The LIPID MAPS Lipidomics Gateway provides a rich collection of information and resources to help you stay abreast of the latest developments in this rapidly expanding field.


The LIPID MAPS (Lipid Metabolites and Pathways Strategy) Consortium is a multi-institutional effort to further our understanding of lipid metabolism and the role lipids play in diseases such as diabetes, stroke, and cancer. The Consortium takes a systems biology approach using the mouse macrophage as a model system, and provides tools and resources for the wider community. See About the consortium for more information.

About Nature Publishing Group

The LIPID MAPS—Nature Lipidomics Gateway will revert to its permanent format as the LIPID MAPS Lipidomics Gateway with the August 2012 update. The LIPID MAPS Consortium warmly thanks its partner, Nature Publishing Group (NPG), for providing editorial content and raising public awareness about the emerging field of lipidomics which were extremely valuable contributions to the Gateway over the last three years. The Gateway will continue to serve the research community as a free resource sponsored by the National Institute of General Medical Sciences.
