Ptm Undergoes sterol-mediated ubiquitination and ER-association degradation (ERAD). The ubiquitinated reductase is then extracted from the ER membrane and delivered to cytosolic 26S proteosomes by a mechanism probably mediated by the ATPase Valosin-containing protein VCP/p97.
