trans-10-Heptadecenoic acid is a C17:1 monounsaturated fatty acid that is a minor constituent of ruminant fats.1 It is also found in the monounsaturated fatty acid pool of C. atrox (rattlesnakes) and remains at constant levels throughout periods of starvation.2
